Satellite TV Vlaanderen
TV Vlaanderen on Astra1/Astra3
TV Vlaanderen is the official satellite package distributor for the dutch speaking people in Belgium. It is a subsidiary of the dutch Canaal Digitaal and shares some channels and transponders. Programmes are distributed using 2 satellites : Astra 1 (19,2 E) and Astra 3 (23,5 E).
The basic channel lineup consists of 10 TV stations and 7 radio stations, coming from the following broadcasting sources :
- VRT (Vlaamse Radio en Televisie) : public broadcaster, govenment funded
- VMMa (Vlaamse Media Maatschappij) : flemish commercial broadcaster, owned mainly by the newspaper publishers
- SBS Broadcasting : international commercial broadcaster
- Media Ad Infinitum : flemish narrowcaster, specializing in lifestyle programming
- Roularta : flemish newspaper publisher, specializing in financial and regional programming
(most programmes are broadcast in their original language, carrying dutch subtitles)
These basic channels are then supplemented by a variety of International channels, most of them subtitled in dutch.
These channels are grouped into 3 main packages :

cost is as follows :
- activation cost = 49,95 euro
- subscription packages (monthly) :
Light = 15.90 Euro
Basic = 18,90 Euro
Basic plus = 25,90 euro (this includes also the basic package)
it is possible to get a "2nd card" subscription - this will open up another 10 basic Flemish TV stations only.
To obtain a subscription, you must provide a Belgian address and use a Belgian account number for monthly payments.
